So God Made Hip Hop And on the 8th day, God looked down on the hearts of the broken and said "I need a unified world." So God made hip hop. God said, "I need a platform and megaphone prepared for those who's voices are muted, who's concerns are passed over, who's needs are overlooked and who's days have been long in suffering. So God Made hip hop. God said, "I need a place where people can gather and express themselves freely in a cypher, openly participate and be heard and take that life with them wherever they go and not be in fear of judgement or oppression." So God made hip hop. God said, "I need a culture where no matter your race, your gender or your respective place in society, no matter how much you make or how little you have and with no regard to your zip code or area code - while maintaining respect for both - all are welcome." So God made hip hop. God had to have people who are bold enough to speak out against, rise up against, act out against and remain unified against those who work against the love and acceptance in his place. So God made hip hop. God said, "I need an institution that can educate, inspire, empower every man and woman and embody the well intended values of nations that will come before it. That will be all inclusive, all accepting and all enduring through the ups and downs impressed on it from the outside world." So God made hip hop. Somewhere for children of the ghettos, sons & daughters of the slums, the offspring of the struggle and the product of the street corners to be heard so that they might be able to, through their misfortune playing the hand that life dealt them, inform a world ignorant to their conditions and inspire a revolution of awareness." So God made hip hop. "A home that will bond a segregated world together in unison through the beat of a bass kick, the boldness of a head spin, the dopeness of the scratch on a 12 inch and the brashness of graffiti on the side of a train car. Something that will move people now and forever." So God made hip hop.
